Iverk Show Baking
One of the best jobs on Iverk Show day must be the judging of the baking classes. Even as one walks past the exhibits the sights and smells would make your mouth water tempting one to put your hand in and steal a fruit scone or a decorated cup cake. The creations made by the exhibitors are magnificent. Their talent is to be admired.

Several classes give the recipe for you to follow. As well as the adult classes there are five classes for children and juniors.
Iverk Show if famous for the ‘Great Cherry Cake’ competition with a prize fund of over €600.

Novelty Vegetables and Flowers
Have you checked the six novelty classes in the vegetable section in our Iverk Show prize list? The only condition here is size, the bigger the better, or in one class how unusual is it (NOTE - not an unusual shape but an unusual species or variety).
Have a look at the attached photos. Will the sunflower seed head be the biggest on show day (26th August) – it is looking good. It is amazing how tall the plant has grown from seeding on the 27th April 2023 to 23 July 2023 about 2.5 meters, that is, almost 3 centimeters per day – amazing.

Flowers
This year we have 12 classes for cut flowers and pot plants. Sponsored by Castletown Cox Estates exhibits are competing for the Tim Leahy cup.
How are you Sweet Pea, or Dahlias looking? My Hydrangeas are looking OK now and hopefully they will last another 3 weeks.
